Doug Van Batavia is a graduate of Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. His roots in the agriculture industry are more than just a great pun--they really do go deep. He owned and operated a top-performing dairy for 20 years prior to joining what is now Marsh McLennan Agency in 2006. His firsthand entrepreneurial and agriculture experience give him unique insights into the complex insurance needs of his customers. He keeps current in the agriculture industry working his own farmland as well as a small vineyard in Washington state.   Doug has his Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS®) designation and works out of MMA's Richland, Washington office. This location provides him a central headquarters to reach a large number of customers in the bustling ag industry. As the a former owner of a dairy, Doug has a great deal of experience in the industry, which means he's a great fit for his dairy clients. He also specializes in hay farms, row crop farms, grass seed operations and vegetable and fruit processing operations.   In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and restoring classic vehicles.
