Jaime Cortes joined Marsh McLennan Agency in 2021 as a business sales executive with the Agribusiness Practice. Jaime has been around agriculture his entire life. He is a product of the Yakima Valley, having grown up in Toppenish, Washington on the Yakima Reservation. As a young boy, Jaime remembers getting up early and watching his parents pick cherries in the summer. Growing up, he and his three brothers would help their father in the upholstery shop. His father, who still owns and operates Raymond’s Upholstery, would work on local businesses, ranchers, and farmers’ upholstery needs. From an early age, witnessing his parents pick cherries and his father’s interactions with local agriculture businesses, he understood the impact that agriculture had on the Yakima Valley. Jaime is focused and dedicated to finding solutions to meet the needs of our agribusiness clients and partners. He is currently advising haying & grazing operations, and beekeepers around the Northwest, including California and New Mexico, on protecting their operations through a product called Pasture, Rangeland, Forage (PRF) and Apiculture (API) Rainfall Index. Through partnerships and relationship building, Jaime presented on crop insurance and PRF to Intertribal Agriculture Council (IAC) members and staff in November 2022. He was also invited to speak at the 2022 Intertribal Agriculture Council annual conference in Las Vegas, NV in December 2022. Jaime has presented on crop insurance and PRF to several tribes throughout the NW including the Nez Perce Tribe, Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, and Kalispel Tribe of Indians.
