Ryan was born and raised in Fort Benton, Montana, where his father still runs the family farm. He attended Montana State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and was named MSU’s Student Athlete of the Year in 2003. In May of 2004, Ryan began working at Marsh McLennan Agency focusing in commercial insurance and workers’ compensation. In the spring of 2006, Ryan took over the Surety Department in the Bozeman branch and has been focused on servicing the surety and commercial insurance needs of MMA clients ever since. He is consistently amongst the top producers in the company. In the community, Ryan is a volunteer coach for Gallatin Valley Empire Lions Midget Football Program and affiliated with several boards including MSU, ASA, and the Bozeman Stampede (BS) Rodeo Committee.
